William Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville

William Wyndham Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville (25 October 1759 – 12 January 1834) was a British politician who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1806 to 1807. Originally a Pittite Tory, he was a supporter of the Whigs for the duration of the Napoleonic Wars and held several cabinet positions, including ten years as foreign secretary. As prime minister, his most significant achievement was the abolition of the slave trade in 1807.
