Tuscany ( TUSK-ə-nee; Italian: Toscana [tosˈkaːna]) is a region of central Italy. With a population of 3,659,222 in an area of 22,987.04 square kilometres (8,875.35 square miles), it is the 9th most populous and 5th-largest region of Italy. The capital and largest city is Florence.
