Toots and the Maytals

Jamaican musical group

The Maytals, also known as Toots and the Maytals, are a Jamaican musical group. Formed in the early 1960s, they were key figures in popularizing reggae music globally, with their use of ska and rocksteady. Frontman Toots Hibbert (1942–2020) has often been compared to Bob Marley and Otis Redding, and has been deemed one of the 100 Greatest Singers by Rolling Stone.
