Social inequality

Social inequality occurs when resources within a society are unevenly distributed. The differences can be connected with religion, kinship, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, and class. Social inequality is linked to economic inequality, usually described as the basis of the unequal distribution of income or wealth.
