Siachen Glacier
Glacier in the Karakoram range in the Himalayas
The Siachen Glacier is a glacier located in the eastern Karakoram range of the Himalayas, in Indian-administered Ladakh. It is situated just northeast of the terminal point NJ9842 of the Line of Control between India and Pakistan, and to the south of the Line of Actual Control between India and China, in the disputed Kashmir region. At 76 km (47 mi) long, it is the longest glacier in the Karakoram and second-longest in the world's non-polar areas.
