Schistosomiasis, also known as snail fever, bilharzia, and Katayama fever is a tropical disease, specifically a helminthiasis caused by the parasitic flatworm of the genus Schistosoma. Schistosomiasis affects humans as well as other animals. It affects the urinary tract or the intestines.
