Radio receiver
Device for receiving radio transmissions
In radio communications, a radio receiver, also known as a receiver, a wireless receiver, or simply a radio, is an electronic device that receives radio waves and converts the information carried by them into a usable form. It is used with an antenna. The antenna responds to radio waves (electromagnetic waves at radio frequencies) and converts them into tiny alternating currents that receiver applies, which then extracts the desired information.
