Pierogi ( pirr-OH-ghee; Polish: [pjɛˈrɔɡʲi] , sing. pieróg [ˈpjɛruk]) are filled dumplings made by wrapping unleavened dough around a filling and cooking in boiling water. They are occasionally flavored with a savory or sweet garnish.
