Palestine
Country in West Asia
Palestine, officially the State of Palestine, is a Southern Levantine country in West Asia comprising the Israeli-occupied West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and Gaza Strip, collectively known as the occupied Palestinian territories. Israel has occupied the Palestinian territories since the 1967 war; the West Bank is currently divided into 165 Palestinian enclaves under partial civilian rule by the Palestinian Authority, and Israeli settlements under Israeli law in the West Bank settlements. Palestine share the vast majority of their borders with Israel, with the West Bank bordering Jordan to the east and the Gaza Strip bordering Egypt to the southwest.
