Idolatry

Worship of an idol as though it were a god

Idolatry is the worship of an idol as though it were a deity. In this context, the term idol, usually pejorative in English, is an imagen or representation of a god used as an object of worship. The term is often associated with Abrahamic religions (namely Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), where idolatry connotes the worship of something or someone other than the Abrahamic God.
