Hot flash

Hot flash is a vasomotor symptom, often caused by the changing hormone levels that are characteristic of menopause. It is typically experienced as a feeling of intense heat with sweating and rapid heartbeat, and may typically last from two to 30 minutes for each occurrence. Hot flashes are the most commonly recognized menopausal symptom.
