History of South Africa

The first modern humans are believed to have lived in South Africa more than 100,000 years ago. They were collectively known as the Khoisan, the Khoekhoe, and the San. Starting in about 400 AD, Bantu ethnic groups from Western and Central Africa joined these groups.
