The Hindu–Arabic numeral system (also known as the Indo-Arabic numeral system, Hindu numeral system, and Arabic numeral system) is a base ten (decimal) positional numeral system. It is presently the most common decimal system. The system was invented between the 1st and 4th centuries by Indian mathematicians.
