Frits Zernike

Frederik "Frits" Zernike (Dutch: [frɪt ˈsɛrnikə]; 16 July 1888 – 10 March 1966) was a Dutch physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1953 for his invention of the phase-contrast microscope.
