David McCullough

David Gaub McCullough ( mə-KUL-ə; July 7, 1933 – August 7, 2022) was an American popular historian, narrator, and author of American history. He was a two-time winner of both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. In 2006, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States.
