Cephalosporin

The cephalosporins (sg.) are a class of β-lactam antibiotics originally derived from the fungal genus Acremonium, which was previously known as Cephalosporium. Together with cephamycins, they constitute a subgroup of β-lactam antibiotics called cephems.
