Birjand

City in South Khorasan province, Iran

Birjand (Persian: بیرجند; [biːɾˈdʒæːnd]) is a city in the Central District of Birjand County, South Khorasan province, Iran, serving as capital of the province, the county, and the district. The city is known for its saffron, barberry, jujube, and handmade carpet exports.
