Audrey Richards
British anthropologist (1899–1984)
Audrey Isabel Richards, CBE, FRAI, FBA (8 July 1899 – 29 June 1984), was a pioneering British social anthropologist. She produced notable ethnographic studies, the most famous of which is Chisungu: A Girl's initiation ceremony among the Bemba of Zambia. Her work also covered diverse topics such as nutrition, family structure, migration, and ethnicity.
