Alcohols used as antiseptics, disinfectants or antidotes
Alcohols, in various forms, are used medically as an antiseptic, disinfectant, and antidote. Alcohols applied to the skin are used to disinfect skin before an injection and before surgery. They may also be used as a hand sanitizer; to clean other areas; and in mouthwashes.
