Science of producing and using plants

Agronomy is the sub-discipline of plant agriculture focused on the science and technology of crop production and soil management as it pertains to field crops in the context of industrial agriculture and cultivation with intensive farming methods. Agronomy has come to include the research of plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science. It is the application of a combination of sciences such as biology, chemistry, economics, ecology, earth science, and genetics.
