Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah

Abū ʿUbayda ibn al-Jarrāḥ (Arabic: أبو عبيدة بن الجراح, born ʿĀmir ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Jarrāḥ; 583–639 CE), also known as Abū ʿUbaida b. al-Djarraḥ, was a Muslim commander and one of the Companions of the Prophet, noted for his piety, intelligence, bravery, and devotion to Muhammad. An early convert to Islam, he participated in all major military campaigns of Muhammad, including the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud, and commanded a division during the Conquest of Mecca.
